Why are the visible difference community consistently made invisible?

From being constantly overlooked by equality laws, absent from policies, or ignored in moves towards diversity and inclusion.

To being erased by artificial intelligence. That is if the technology succeeds in verifying our faces as human. Failure to recognise our faces is far more than just an inconvenience at a passport gate.

 

Through to being passed up for a job with no explanation or kept to the ‘back office’.

Why does this overt inequality remain in the shadows?

We must ensure this community is seen, heard and valued in the world of tech, work and policy.

 

Our latest campaign, Visibly Invisible focuses on three target areas where we need urgent change.

Halting the rapidly evolving harms caused by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Facial Recognition Software.

Inclusion in Law and Policy

Explicit, undeniable recognition as an equality issue.
